Hi, I’m Jess and I’m The Accidental Farmgirl! I’m a city girl turned farm girl who traded Chanel for Carhartt. My story is one that I get asked about often, as it uncovered my love for a simpler way of life and seamlessly integrated my passion for design.
I was working and living in Boston and moved home to Rhode Island for a Summer when I met my husband. At the time, I was adamant about staying kid-free and maintaining the life of a fashionable city-dweller. Except I unexpectedly fell in love with a farm boy from Utah. I never returned to Boston and “The Accidental Farmgirl” was a nickname that stuck.
Fast forward many years later and we live in a rural town in Rhode Island with our 5 children and backyard farm animals. We raise our own livestock, eat straight from our gardens and enjoy the simple life. Through the process of creating a warm and inviting home for my family I was able to nurture my love for design and found my passion for flowers in the lazy days of tending to my garden. I couldn’t bring myself to cut stems from the garden so I began playing around with faux florals to make decorative pieces for my home. In that moment, the Accidental Farmgirl Co. was born.
Today, our shop employs nearly a dozen local moms and creatives just like myself. We take so much pride and joy in hand-making each piece that gets sent to your home. Thank you so much for visiting our shop and we hope you find something you will love and cherish for years to come.
Yes, all of our wreaths are made with faux fruit, florals and greenery, unless specified otherwise in the listing. Occasionally a wreath may have a dried, natural element that will require extra care. Please refer to specific listings for details on your wreath.
Almost all of our wreaths are made for outdoor use, unless specified otherwise in the specific description. Each wreath is sprayed with a protective sealant to repel mild weather conditions and ensure longevity. We strongly suggest taking your wreath indoors during inclement weather. Wreaths should not be exposed to any water, heavy moisture or extreme heat (ie trapped between front door and storm door or hung in an attic without ventilation). Buying a simple UV spray from Amazon or Home Depot and spraying your wreath at the beginning of each season will ensure longevity.

When properly cared for your wreath will last forever! When not in use, your wreath is best kept in a temperature-controlled space that does not get too much heat or sun exposure. Be sure to never hang your wreath between two doors (ie front door and storm door). Wreaths should not be exposed to any water, heavy moisture or extreme heat. The Accidental Farmgirl Co. does not accept exchanges or cancellations. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return the product within 48 hours of receipt for a full refund. Due to the handmade nature of our products combined with the high turnover of seasonal items, return requests made after the 48 hour period will be made on a case to case basis. Some products may be subject to a restocking fee and customized items are not eligible for return.
